I was hoping to get the VIP Lounge framework finished before the big 100th-day update (and I still might manage it!), but for now, it’s still very much a work in progress.<\/p>\n

As part of the A Deck overhaul, I really wanted to make the lounge area less boxy, and with the help of a more organic approach to modelling I think we’re definitely heading in the right direction. The new design is now a bit lower, wider, and a lot more streamlined compared to the old one:<\/p>\n

That’s the easy part though because I now have to add all the inner skins and structural ribbing, etc. Here’s where I’m at so far with that after a few false starts:<\/p>\n

I still need to build the horizontal supports, cut the holes for maintenance access\/mass reduction, cut out the new window shapes, and then define all the attachment points for the wall panels. As always it’s a long process, but totally worth it in the long run once all the ship’s infrastructure is running through it and the panels are attached.<\/p>\n

The internal volume will be very similar to the existing lounge, being the same depth, but it will be two metres or so wider on each side. That leaves a lot more room for stairs:<\/p>\n

Ok, so the race is now on to get this lounge structure finished and ready for wall panels by the end of play tomorrow. Then we’ll take a look back over the past 100 days and see what was achieved! \"laughing\"<\/p>\n
